I just wanted to say thank you for all you've done in helping us with Ricky's headstone.  It is so beautiful.  Everyone is very pleased with the way it turned out.  I can see why God has picked you for this job.  You were so kind and patient with us while we were deciding.  With your help we were able to get a headstone that truly reflects Ricky's personality and having his poem and signature on it is awesome.  God used you to help make our task more bearable.  I thank you, and I thank God for sending us to you.

I went to the cemetery today and observed a Sterling employee place the grave “blanket” that our family had ordered from Sterling Monument. It also gave me the opportunity to see “repairs” that Sterling had done in casting the pieces of the old tombstone in concrete at the grave. 

First, let me say that the blanket is just exactly as we had ordered it and also as I had pictured it in my mind. Thank you for any extra effort it may have taken in order to finish and place the stone today. Our family will converge on the cemetery in two weeks on Saturday, 30 May, for the dedication and viewing of the new stone. Following the noon ceremony there will be a luncheon for the seventy family members who are attending. Relatives will be flying in from the states of Washington, Idaho, Montana, Illinois, and Florida and driving from New Mexico, Oklahoma and all points of Texas. So you can see that I am a much more tranquil and happier person now that the reason for those plans is in place. 

I highly commend your employees for their professionalism in placing the stone, and especially, for their work on the old tombstone. I trust you realize what tremendous assets they are to Sterling Monument. 

I also appreciated the professionalism of your other staff there who were very cordial, courteous and pleasant in their dealings with me. 

This may be trite and “doddering” for an old fellow to say, but I left the cemetery after another visit this afternoon, feeling that my great grandfather who was buried there almost 118 years ago, perhaps rests a little warmer and a little more peaceful tonight under his new blanket and rejuvenated old tombstone.

I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the work you and your company did in the construction and placement of my wife’s monument. I suppose I did a good job in telling you what I wanted as the final product is exactly as I had pictured it in my mind. I couldn’t be more happy. I almost feel I should have a party and invite everyone to come and see it. I have enclosed a couple of pictures that you may show off, if you would like to. We got our memorial out to the cemetery – it looks good in that high desert area – We’re pleased with the memorial. We appreciate the efforts you took to take care of our business. 

Also, we enjoyed the time you took to show us around Sterling Monument. We are both interested in technology, and professional craftsmanship. It’s obvious that the staff there cares about their product and clients.

Our family thanks you for the work that went into reproducing the original monument and placing it at the new site. Although it looks like the original hand carved one, the stone, picture, and lettering are much nicer. The placement of the monument is something my grandfather talked about for several years before his recent death. I believe he would be proud of the finished product. Thanks especially for patiently recreating the monument from a small dark photograph. Thanks also for making the many changes and adjustments my family wanted over the weeks. And thanks for meeting us to set up the monument. The man who helped went above and beyond what was expected of him. I wanted to tell you again how pleased I am with his headstone. It turned out beautifully as I had hoped it would. I would appreciate it very much if you could send me a copy of the words to the poem on your wall about “One Last Gift.” It is a beautiful verse. I hope I succeeded in doing this for him. I feel like I did. He was a very special man and deserved a stone fitting his special qualities. He was simple and very classy. We miss him so. Thank you for your help on this special tribute to him. Today a young man came to set the monument on our cemetery plot. I think you should feel very privileged to have such a fine person represent your company. There was a small amount of damage to one side of the monument. Instead of trying to hide it or trying to keep me from seeing it, he was very up-front about the damage. I feel this speaks well for the integrity of both your company and him. I only hope that my grandsons would act in such a manner. Thank you for repairing this damage. I am looking forward to having this monument in place.
